Run For Fish

The club is busy fundraising for The Friendly Anglers Fund

A number of us (5 so far) have decided to run a half marathon on the 17th November that is being organised by Radcliffe Athletics Club – The 13 Arches Half Marathon – this is one of the “warm up events” that our Run For Fish team will be taking part in before the next Manchester Marathon in April 2020.

Each runner intends to raise at least £100 at this event – if you would like to join us – get fit – take part in an event – and raise some funds for a good cause – you can sign up to take part in the event via this link click here – which takes you to the Radcliffe Athletics Club events page – you can sign up for the event which costs £19.60  – and then please let us know that you are joining us (we will be having a few social (slow) training runs before the main event.

If you don’t fancy running 13.2 miles around Drinkwater Park, Waterdale, Kingfisher and the River Irwell (and we can well imagine that you might not) you can visit our Just Giving page – and make a donation to support the anglers who are “Running For Fish”

Please click this link to read more about The Friendly Anglers Fund – how we intend to raise funds, more ways that you can contribute, and what we intend to spend the money on

We are also holding a series of Saturday evening fishing matches on the Old River in Irlam – draw 4pm fish until dusk – you are welcome to join us .. matches are 17th Aug, 31st Aug, 14th Sept, 28th Sept
