We have been asked by the EA and the Angling Trust to help set up a “fisheries plan” for the River Irwell – which is great -BUT!!!
The Irwell is just a tributary of the Mersey – and some of our goals – such as the return of migratory fish, reduction in pollutants etc. mean that we need to look at the Mersey as an entire system rather than a single river.
So – we have created a questionnaire that’s relevant to all anglers in the Mersey Catchment region.
We are going to use the data to try to identify what “we the anglers” think can be done to improve the rivers in our region, and use this data to create a “Mersey Plan” – ambitious – but if we don’t try then……..
