A Pike Match – 11th February 2018

The society would like to invite you to take part in a Pike Social/Match on Sunday the 11th Febuary 2018 to be held at the Old River in Irlam..

The plans for the day are to meet at 8.30am in the car park of the Boathouse Pub (M44 6DN) to draw fishing pegs – and then to fish from 9am until 12.30 lunchtime – at which point we will all retire to the Boathouse Inn for something to eat and a hot drink..

Cost of the event is £5 and the competition is open to both members and non members.

As always are rules are quite relaxed – this is a social event as much as a competition.

1. Competitors must fish from the peg that they draw.

2. Competitors may use any legal method to catch pike (worm, livebait, lure, deadbait, tickling)

3. Competitors may use 2 rods/lines in the water at any one time

4. Fish care is paramount – all anglers must have a suitable landing net, and use unhooking equipment, all anglers must have and use an unhooking mat.

5. All fish caught to be weighed by club official and released back into the water asap.

After lunch – many club members will be returning to fish the Old River for an afternoon of pleasure fishing…. some members will be moving on to fish the “rather large canal” which flows nearby….

Everyone welcome – it should be fun
