Hi everyone – the British Lure Angling Championships qualifier is to be held at Salford Quays on Sunday the 1st February.

Those who qualify on the day go through to the televised final at Chew Valley, fish for a £1000 prize and the honour of becoming British Champion.

The Quays fish well for lure and drop shotting and we’re very keen to see how the “experts” fare. Over the last couple of years they have produced pike to 33lb, perch to 3lb12oz plus the occasional carp has succumbed to anglers lures too.
The match is being sponsored by the Angling Times and Fox, and we as a club are receiving a small donation to our restocking fund.
So – for all you Quays experts – now the time to prove yourselves against the big boys – get entering !!

Parking is free on the single yellow lines along Waterfront Quay Road (sundays only)- and the meeting point for the event will be outside the Watersports Centre at Ontario Quay. See POINT B on photo below. Toilets are available at the Water Sports Centre and at the Beefeater Restaurant.
A point of note – you will need a very long handled landing net for some areas of the Quays.
